Hardware midi has to rival the mouse and possibly some of the key commands from the keyboard for DAW users if not then the touch screens monitors are going to take a substantial amount of their revenue. If they haven't began already because with the use of touchscreen and software I fear hardware controllers are going to be rendered obsolete.
